Dear Fellow Residents of Albany,
I am proud to announce my candidacy to be Albany County’s next Comptroller. I am running because I believe in honest, transparent public service in our elected officials. As progressive Democrats, we believe in governance that doesn’t just work for the few, but works for all.
Frankly, I just like making government work. Period.
As Albany City Treasurer, my role as the city’s chief financial officer is essentially the tax and fee collector for the city. But it’s more about how do we add progressive compassion to government, making city government work better for all. In that vein, I worked to improve technology making it easier for tax payers to pay their bills, established the Food for Fines program, provided Seniors with additional time to pay taxes, and allowed tax payers to pay taxes faster and with no wait times after the Trump tax changes.
Over the next several months, I look forward to discussing my experience in the public, private and non-profit sectors, and my ideas about how to serve you better.
Sincerely,
